Good governance is a prerequisite for a developed and democratic society. Good governance implies accountability, transparency, responsiveness, and above all increased participation of citizens in decision-making. Appropriate decision-making and enforcement processes follow the principles of good governance, thus delivering better results for municipalities and their citizens. The understanding of good governance principles by all, both citizens and municipal officials, is the first step towards this process.
