On 6th of November 2018 was held the salon with the topic “Increased participation for good governance” in the municipality of Klokot, where guest speakers were municipal officials. Participants in this salon were citizens, youth and women representatives, as well as representatives form nongovernmental organizations of the municipality of Kllokot.

Increased participation for good governance in Klokot

The guest speakers opened the discussion by emphasizing the municipality of Klokot’s achievements, projects that have been implemented and those that are expected to be implemented in the future, which have direct impact in the development of their community and that contribute towards a good local governance.

The most discussed topic in the salon was employment, and how can the municipality fix this issue. Municipal officials emphasized that the Municipality is doing everything in its competences to cooperate with donors through whom they are trying to secure financial support for entrepreneurs that want to start a new business. Also, it was discussed about the creation of conditions for investments in the municipality of Klokot, as a tourist destination, which would create many job vacancies for the citizens of the municipality. Among others, the participants also sought support by the municipality for the farmers, which requested for a better watering system for their crops and to find buyers for their products. The youth sought a better cooperation from the municipality so that they will be included in the decision- and policy- making processes, as well as to create more job opportunities for the youth of the municipality of Klokot.

This salon was organized by the partner organization CDKD within the framework of “Increased participation for good governance” project, implemented by Democracy for Development institute (D4D) with financial support by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
